Nyayo Stadium to admit only 18,000 fans for rescheduled Mashemeji Derby on Sunday
Originally scheduled for Saturday, November 29, the match was postponed to December 7 at 3:00 pm due to stadium unavailability.
The Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi will host a limited crowd of 18,000 fans for Sunday's rescheduled FKF Premier League Mashemeji Derby between arch-rivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards, representing just under 80 per cent of the stadium's 22,900 seating capacity.

"#MashemejiDerby tickets are moving fast, and only 18,000 have been released for Sunday's epic clash at Nyayo Stadium from 3:00 pm. Don't get locked out! Grab yours at langopass.com," Gor Mahia said in a statement on Facebook.
Regular tickets are selling for Sh300, VIP tickets for Sh1,000, and VVIP tickets for Sh5,000.
According to club officials, the stadium will not be filled to capacity to adhere to several safety requirements set by Sports Kenya, which manages public stadiums, for high-risk matches like the derby.
The decision is also intended to reduce the risk of damage, as previous Mashemeji Derbies have witnessed incidents involving unruly fans, sometimes resulting in fines and temporary bans for both clubs.
"After we paid to use the facility, Sports Kenya insisted that we conduct three pre-event meetings before Sunday to firm up match hosting arrangements. We held one meeting on Tuesday, and we are set to hold another meeting on Friday and Saturday," a senior Gor Mahia official told The Nation.
"The tickets will be sold exclusively online, and we will try as much as possible to ensure that there will be no sale of tickets on match-day."
The clash comes at a crucial point in the league season. Gor Mahia, popularly known as K'Ogalo, top the table with 19 points from nine matches, five ahead of AFC Leopards, who sit seventh with 14 points. Both sides have played nine games so far.
For the first time in the derby's history, the men's main event will be preceded by a women's fixture, featuring the AFC Leopardess and Gor Mahia Queens.
